EPS releases names of alleged impaired drivers, arrests two on “shoplifting spree”

The Estevan Police Service has released the names of two people recently charged for allegedly driving while impaired.

On March 23, Bonnie Loutitt, 28, of Prince Albert was charged with operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance with a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08.

The following day, Alex Howard, 26, of Roche Percee was charged with operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance with a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08.

The charges have not been proven in court.

In other recent police news, officers arrested two people from Weyburn on March 31 after what the EPS called a “shoplifting spree.” A 31-year-old man is facing six criminal charges for theft under $5,000. He also had a warrant for his arrest from the Weyburn Police Service.

A 41-year-old woman is also facing six criminal charges of theft under $5,000, one charge of possession of property obtained by crime and one charge of possession of crystal meth. The pair arrived in Estevan and made their way to five businesses where several items were taken.

The two were released on conditions several hours later.

Police attended to a residence March 31 regarding a disturbance. The matter is under investigation for charges of assault and mischief against two males.

Officers received a complaint about a fraud involving Health Canada and remind the public not to provide any personal or financial information to unknown person(s) or parties unknown.

Police attended to a residence March 29 in relation to a disturbance. A 38-year-old male was arrested for assault and mischief to property. He was lodged in cells and brought to court the following morning.

Police were called to the Pleasantdale area of the city to a report of a female screaming. Upon arrival she was located and when determining what had occurred, no further action was necessary. She was safe and the matter has since been concluded.
