Estevan Police handle calls for accidents and harassment

  • Officers attended to a local business during the July 16 day shift, as there was a report of drugs being located in the parking lot. The substance was seized and transported back to the police station. The EPS would like to remind the public to use caution when handling such items. If the item needs to be moved prior to police arriving, officers ask the public to use proper protection.
  • Members were called to a residence, as the homeowner wanted a person removed. The suspect had left prior to members arriving on scene.
  • Police attended to a pair of two-vehicle collisions during the July 17 day shift. The first was at the corner of Second Avenue and Fourth Street. One of the occupants was transported to the hospital via Estevan Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
  • The other collision was on Heritage Drive, as a vehicle collided with a parked vehicle. The driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
  • A report came in of a suspicious male in central Estevan. Members attended and located the male, who was in the area helping a friend with car issues.
  • Police assisted the RCMP during the July 18 day shift in locating a family that was believed to be living in Estevan.
  • Members received a report of the theft of services. Police attended and spoke to the parties involved. The matter was resolved without criminal charges.
  • Officers were asked to conduct a welfare check on an Estevan resident who hadn’t been heard from for several days. The individual called and advised he was fine.
  • Police received a parking complaint during the July 19 day shift. A vehicle had been parked in a private driveway without permission. The matter was resolved prior to police arriving.
  • Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a local commercial property. The unwelcome guest left prior to police arriving. He was advised to avoid behaving in a disturbing manner or it may result in criminal charges.
  • Police attended to a disturbance in the Hillside area. Police mediated a resolution between the parties involved.
  • Members received an accidental 911 call from a local business. Police attended and everything was fine.
  • Police received a driving complaint regarding a vehicle that was heading eastbound towards Estevan from Macoun. Police located the vehicle, spoke to the driver and warned him about his driving actions.
  • Officers received a subsequent report of criminal harassment involving a Regina male, regarding a matter in which there are already criminal charges pending before the court and scheduled for Aug. 13. Further investigation is taking place with the possibility of further criminal charges.
  • Members attended to a disturbance in the Pleasantdale area during the July 20 night shift. The parties involved were separated for the evening. Police are investigating an assault that occurred at the disturbance.
  • Police received a report of a theft of fuel. Officers located the individual responsible and had him return to pay for his gas.
  • Members assisted EMS with a patient who needed to be transported to the hospital during the July 21 night shift.
  • Police received a report of a stolen debit card that was used fraudulently. The matter is still under investigation.
  • Officers located an intoxicated male who went for a bike ride and fell off his bike. He was given a ride home and turned over to other people at his home.
  • Police received two separate barking dog complaints during the night shift. Members were able to warn one owner. The second dog owner was not located. Efforts will be made to follow up with that owner at a later time.
  • Officers issued a three-day driver’s licence suspension and a three-day vehicle impoundment to a 24-year-old man from the rural municipality of Cambria. He provided a breath sample into the approved screening device and the result was at the warning level.
  • Members attended to a disturbance in the Pleasantdale area of the city. The parties were separated for the night.
