Estevan police make arrests on drug-related charges

Members of the Estevan Police Service arrested two people Saturday after attending to a residence in northwest Estevan.

Officers had attended to ensure compliance with release conditions.  A 42-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamines. 

A 39-year-old woman will be charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamines along with breaching her release conditions. She will be remanded into custody to appear in court on Monday.

Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Kensington Avenue on Jan. 4. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene. The matter remains under investigation.

During the evening hours, police initiated a traffic stop in north-central Estevan which resulted in a 37-year-old Estevan woman being arrested and charged for impaired driving. She is schedule to make her first court appearance March 9 in Estevan Provincial Court.

In other recent police news, the EPS received a report Jan. 1 regarding a call that was threatening in nature, which was received by an Estevan resident. The origin of the call was discovered to be from Regina and a suspect was identified. The matter remains under investigation.

Police received a report Jan. 2 of uttering threats. The matter is still under investigation.

Members were dispatched on a report of an erratic driver in central Estevan on Jan. 3. The vehicle was found and a traffic stop occurred, at which time the driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for driving without consideration of others.

A traffic stop in central Estevan resulted in a 29-year-old Estevan man having his driver’s licence suspended for three days, and his vehicle being towed. The driver provided a breath sample in an approved screening device that resulting in a “warn” reading.
