Estevan RCMP arrests three for impaired driving

The Estevan RCMP has released details on the arrest of three allegedly impaired drivers in the southeast. RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Bienfait on Oct. 19 at approximately 8 p.m.

The Estevan RCMP has released details on the arrest of three allegedly impaired drivers in the southeast.

RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Bienfait on Oct. 19 at approximately 8 p.m. As a result police, arrested a 25-year-old man from Estevan for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He is set to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Nov. 19 to answer to the charges.

Then on Oct. 22, at approximately 5:40 p.m., RCMP members were patrolling in response to complaints of a possible impaired driver. As a result, a traffic stop was conducted and the 55-year-old driver from Alberta was arrested on Highway 39 between Macoun and Hitchcock. He was charged with impaired operation, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a valid driver’s licence, having open alcohol in a vehicle and possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle. He is set to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Dec. 10.

The following day, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Estevan RCMP responded to a complaint of a semi hauling hay bales that had overturned on Highway 39 just north of Hitchcock. The hay bales landed in the ditch. As a result, the 62-year-old male driver was arrested for impaired driving. He is also set to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Dec. 10. 

No injuries occurred in the incident.
