The Estevan Police Service (EPS) made an arrest for drug and weapon charges on Wednesday.

EPS members apprehended a 33-year-old Lampman man for possession of methamphetamine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public and carrying a concealed weapon under the Criminal Code.

Police were alerted to the accused operating a vehicle in the Sixth Street area, where he was located and a traffic stop was conducted.

He is also facing a charge of driving while suspended under the Traffic Safety Act.

His vehicle has been impounded, and he will appear in Estevan Provincial Court in September to answer to the charges.

Officers also conducted a welfare check on a male after he was observed slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle on Souris Avenue. He was found to be in good health and sent on his way.
