Members of the Estevan Police Service had to tend to an incident on Kensington Avenue Friday that forced traffic to be diverted for about 45 minutes.

Police were alerted to a report of a semi-trailer unit that was blocking the avenue. Members attended and found that the semi driver had cut the corner too close and the trailer had entered the ditch.

A picker truck was required to lift the trailer back onto the roadway. There were no other vehicles involved and no one was injured.

Traffic had to be diverted until the semi could be sent on its way. No charges were laid.

Also on Friday, a 28-year-old man from Estevan was arrested and charged with driving while suspended and failing to comply with court ordered conditions following a traffic stop in the 900-block of King Street. The subject will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges. The vehicle he was operating has been impounded for 30 days.
