Police arrest two more impaired drivers

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) have apprehended a couple more impaired drivers in recent days. Police arrested an Estevan female for impaired driving on June 13. She has been charged and will appear in court in August.

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) have apprehended a couple more impaired drivers in recent days.

Police arrested an Estevan female for impaired driving on June 13. She has been charged and will appear in court in August.

The other arrest came on June 14 after a call from the Report Impaired Drivers line late in the afternoon. The subject was located, arrested and charged for impaired driving and driving while over .08. He was released a short time later with a July court date.

The names of the impaired drivers were not immediately released. 

In other recent police news, members received a report June 13 of mischief to a vehicle. It is believed to be related, and likely occurred at the same time, as other reports of vandalism reported earlier in the week.

Members are currently investigation a criminal harassment complaint that was received the previous evening.

Police initiated a traffic stop and learned the driver of the vehicle had his licence suspended and the vehicle was unregistered. The driver was charged with driving while suspended, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

The EPS received a report of a mischief at a school on June 14. There was spray paint on some doors that had a single word written. The matter is still under investigation.

Police were notified of a concern after someone received a call from the Saskatchewan Federation of Police Officers. The request was to support the cannabis awareness in schools. The EPS confirmed that there is legitimate canvassing for donations.

Members received a report June 15 about a mischief incident that took place on Boyer Avenue. A residence had their doorbell rung and nobody was at the door when the couple answered it. Police are asking for assistance from the public. If they know or saw anything in the area, please call the police.

Police arrested an intoxicated male walking in the 1200-block of King Street. He was lodged in cells until sober.

Officers located a male on breach of his conditions. Police are continuing to investigate and charges are pending.
