Police called about fraud and a break and enter

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) have handled calls about a fraud, a break and enter and other incidents in recent days. The EPS received a call through the Report Impaired Drivers (RID) line during the Jan. 31 day shift.

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) have handled calls about a fraud, a break and enter and other incidents in recent days.

The EPS received a call through the Report Impaired Drivers (RID) line during the Jan. 31 day shift. The vehicle was reported leaving a local liquor establishment. The licence plate provided did not match the description of the vehicle. Members patrolled the area but could not locate the vehicle.

Members were called to a licensed premise for a man refusing to leave when asked to do so. A 26-year-old man from Estevan was arrested and charged under the Alcohol Gaming Regulations Act. He is scheduled to appear in court in April to speak to those charges.

Police are investigating a fraud that was reported during the Feb. 1 day shift. Initial statements have been taken and a suspect has been identified. The matter remains under investigation.

Police responded to a local residence to assist in keeping the peace as property was exchanged between two parties. There were no issues.

Members attended to a disturbance at a Hillside residence during the Feb. 1 night shift. Police mediated a resolution over a disagreement that was going on.

Officers were called back to the Hillside area to a second disturbance. Once again mediation took place. The parties involved have been referred to organizations within the community.
