Police make arrest on firearm charges

The Estevan Police Service arrested one person Monday night for firearm and other charges.

Police stopped a vehicle as part of an investigation, and upon conducting the traffic stop, located a weapon with a sawed-off stock and an altered barrel. As a result, a man was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and possession of a prohibited weapon.

A large knife was also seized.

He was also charged for possession for a small amount of methamphetamine.

The male was released on numerous conditions for a later court date.
