Police make arrests for driving infractions, uttering death threats

Police completed a traffic stop on Jan. 21 and issued a 52-year-old Redvers man a three-day driving suspension for impairment. Out of the same vehicle, the 34-year-old male passenger, also from Redvers, was charged with two counts of breaching his release conditions out of Carlyle. He was lodged in detention to be remanded for court in Carlyle.

Officers completed another traffic stop, which resulted in a 20-year-old Torquay man being issued a 120-day driving suspension for impairment. His vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days.

Police arrested and charged at 36-year-old man Jan. 20 with uttering death threats, intimidation, and two counts of criminal harassment. The man was lodged in cells after remand to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Jan. 21 to answer to the charges.

Members received a report of criminal harassment. Statements were taken from the victim and witness. The matter has further investigation.

Police received a report Jan. 18 of an individual dumping trees on a city lot without permission. The male was located and warned under the bylaw. He was also instructed to return and clean up the trees and take them to the city landfill.

Officers received a report of criminal harassment. The complainant is supplying a statement and further investigation is to follow.

Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 13th Avenue and Sixth Street. No injuries were reported. One of the vehicles had to be towed from the motor vehicle accident.

Members attended to keep the peace at a residence where an unwanted intoxicated male was refusing to leave. Police attended and the male left without incident.
