Two more impaired drivers arrested by EPS

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) arrested one impaired driver on Friday and Saturday each, and apprehended a number of other people during that time for other infractions. EPS members arrested a 63-year-old Estevan woman Friday afternoon.

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) arrested one impaired driver on Friday and Saturday each, and apprehended a number of other people during that time for other infractions.

EPS members arrested a 63-year-old Estevan woman Friday afternoon. She will face charges of impaired driving, driving while over .08 and driving while prohibited. She will be remanded for court Monday morning in Estevan. She was also on a temporary correctional centre release, which has now been revoked. After court she will be transported back to the correctional centre.

Police arrested a 50-year-old man from Newfoundland on Saturday after he made a left turn off of King Street to travel southbound in the northbound lane of 13th Avenue. He was subsequently arrested and has been charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08.

In other recent police news, EPS members stopped a motor vehicle Friday and charged a 16-year-old female for being a youth in possession of cannabis marijuana. She was released to an adult guardian.

Police responded to a disturbance near the Grundeen Crescent and Nicholson Road area. The report was of three males assaulting another male. Upon police arrival, all involved had fled the area. A short time later, one of the suspects returned and was intoxicated. He was arrested after the homeowner wanted him removed from the property. The individual was lodged in cells until he was sober.

Officers did several curfew checks and one person was not at home. Police are investigating and charges are pending against an Estevan female.

Members arrested an 18-year-old woman Saturday who was wanted for outstanding charges.  Police executed the warrant and released her for an August court date.
