Woman arrested for assault

On Sept. 25, an 18-year-old woman from Estevan was arrested for assault and breaching conditions of an undertaking after police were called to a residence on the west side of the city. The woman has been remanded for court on Sept. 26.

On Sept. 25, an 18-year-old woman from Estevan was arrested for assault and breaching conditions of an undertaking after police were called to a residence on the west side of the city. The woman has been remanded for court on Sept. 26.

The same day, police were called to a group of suspicious youth near a building under construction. Police found the building was insecure and spoke to the youth in the area. A thorough search of the building was conducted and no damage was located. The youths were identified, spoken to and sent on their way.

Police are also investigating a complaint of erratic driving on the west side of the city. The suspect has been identified and the matter remains under investigation.

In other recent police news, on Sept. 23 a report of a group of males being loud and drinking alcohol outside a local hotel was received. Police attended and spoke to a group of people. Police warned them about the noise and sent them inside for the evening.

The same day police located a local business with the door left insecure. The property was checked and nothing appeared to be out of place. The property was secured with no further action required.

On Sept. 24, members were dispatched to a street in east-central Estevan on the report of an injured dog. The dog, which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, was found and captured and soon turned over to its owner. The dogs injuries were not life threatening.

Two .22 cal bullets, found in an east-central Estevan parking lot, were turned in to police. The public is reminded to turn in such items to police when found and to exercise caution when doing so. If there are safety concerns, public is asked to call police, who will attend to safely pick it up.

Police also responded to a report of a noise complaint in a northeast Estevan apartment building. The tenant was warned of the City of Estevan bylaw regarding loud noise. No further issues were reported.
