A candidate for mayor and one for councillor join the race for Estevan city council

 

There will be an election for mayor in Estevan this fall.

Ray Walton filed his nomination papers Wednesday at city hall. He joins the incumbent, Roy Ludwig, in the mayoral race.

Walton is looking to be part of city council for the first time.

Also on Wednesday, Lindsay Clark filed nomination papers for councillor in the election. Clark is the sixth person to file for councillor, joining incumbents Travis Frank and Shelly Veroba, and first-time candidates Geoff Thiessen, Kirsten Walliser and Bernadette Wright.

The deadline to file is Oct. 7.

The election will be Nov. 9.
