Mercury presents proceeds of fundraiser

Estevan Mercury publisher and sales manager Deanna Tarnes presented $1,000 to United Way Estevan president Melanie Graham Saturday afternoon.

The money was raised through the Mercury’s Summer Coupon Book promotion. More than 20 businesses participated in the inaugural initiative, and offered coupons on a variety of merchandise and services.

The coupon book served as a reminder of all that you can find in Estevan’s business community, and of the importance of shopping locally.

Proceeds from the sales of the coupon book were presented to the United Way during the organization’s annual telethon.

The telethon wraps up at 5 p.m. Saturday.
