Construction is occurring at the intersection of King Street and 13th Avenue for a new traffic light installation. The north lane on King Street for westbound traffic is closed as well as the two northbound lanes on 13th Avenue at this intersection.
The closure includes the northbound turning lane from King Street onto 13th Avenue is closed.
A detour has been set up at the intersection of King Street and Victoria Avenue for northbound traffic. The detour route consists of one block north to George Street then turn west one block back onto 13th Avenue.
The City management reminds drivers to slow down and use caution in construction zones and detour routes.
Safety co-ordinator Helen Fornwald also reported that the new pedestrian light installed at the intersection of Edward Street and Souris Avenue north is not working at this time.
The 1200 Block of Second Street will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday due to excavating and patching work. Local traffic only. The public is requested to avoid this area until the construction work has been completed.
