Reunion for two schools on a ship

An alumni of the former Estevan Collegiate Institute (ECI) is looking for graduates of the school who would be interested in participating in a unique reunion for those who graduated from the school and the Immaculate Heart High (IHH).

Larry Hamblin, a former Estevan resident who graduated from ECI in 1969, is a travel agent who is part of the effort to have the reunion. Hamblin attended the large ECI/IHH Reunion in Estevan in 2000.

Both schools have been closed for many years.

Hamblin noted that in August, there was a Facebook conversation involving a number of people who attended ECI/IHH, and the discussion turned to having a reunion cruise in 2021.

“That’s where it took off. I wasn’t able to block any cabins until a week ago for 2021,” said Hamblin. “We’ve already had one reunion in Estevan. They had a reunion in Regina.”

That cruise will take place from July 18-25, 2021, and will travel from Vancouver to Alaska over the course of seven days. Two couples are booked already and 32 cabins are blocked off, but he said they could have as many cabins as they want if more people are interested.

Hamblin has sent out about 140 emails so far, and another person who is involved with the reunion cruise has more email addresses. But they are looking for more addresses of people who might be interested.
