A group known as the Estevan and Area Believers will be bringing a week of non-denominational, tent revival services to Estevan.

Services will take place from Sept. 21 to 28 at the Super 6 campground and motel site west of the city limits. They will start at 7 p.m. each night.

Calven Johnson, Ed Komarnicki and Tim Wishart comprise the Estevan believers group. They have been travelling through southeast Saskatchewan for almost two months, and talking to individuals and pastors to promote the services, which are happening through a Almond Tree Ministries.

Johnson noted it was Wishart who had the vision for the event while staying at the Super 6 site.

Two ministers will be speaking during the revival. The first is Allan O’Soup, an Indigenous evangelist from Canora who has travelled across Canada through tent meetings. He’s bringing the tent with him.

The other speaker, Al Von Heyking, who now resides in Osoyoos, B.C., used to be a pastor in Estevan.

Johnson said the Estevan believers group has heard both O’Soup and Von Heyking preach on many occasions.

“We know both of these people very well,” said Johnson.

O’Soup also has a band that he brings with him, so they will be playing worship music every other night.

Four local churches will be providing worship music on the other nights: the Carlyle Full Gospel Church, Macoun Evangelical Missionary Church, the Beaubier Pentecostal Church and the Jesus Our Light Ministries International in Estevan.

Johnson said this is a non-denominational event, and he hopes to see large crowds with both Christians and non-Christians to hear a message of faith.

“If they need prayer for anything in their lives, whether it be marriage difficulties or health or financial or anything else, they can come for prayers,” said Johnson.
