Councillor Shelly Veroba, who is wrapping up her first term on Estevan city council, filed her nomination papers on Thursday afternoon. She is the first person to file for councillor. Six councillors will be elected.

Veroba finished first in the councillor race in the 2016 election.

McCrimmon is seeking a spot for Estevan on the school board for the first time.

Earlier this week, Mayor Roy Ludwig filed the requisite forms for the mayor’s job, a role he has held since 2012.

The deadline to file a nomination paper is Oct. 7.

The civic election will be Nov. 9.
