Update: Emergency crews called to fire at the Derrick Motor Hotel

Emergency crews were called to a fire at the Derrick Motor Hotel on Monday evening. Members of the Estevan Fire Rescue Service, the Estevan Police Service and the Estevan Emergency Medical Services were called at around 10 p.m. to the Derrick.

Emergency crews were called to a fire at the Derrick Motor Hotel on Monday evening. 

Members of the Estevan Fire Rescue Service, the Estevan Police Service and the Estevan Emergency Medical Services were called at around 10 p.m. to the Derrick. The Estevan Police Service provided traffic control while fire crews extinguished the fire and checked the hotel, which has been closed since 2016.

Fire Chief Dale Feser said the fire was relatively minor in nature. The building sustained some damage, but it was be repairable. 

Nobody was injured while fighting the fire.
