The United Way Estevan has received more than $90,000 in donations for its 44th annual fundraising telethon.

The telethon started at 8 a.m. Friday and cleared the $90,000 mark just before 8 p.m. The United Way hopes to reach its goal of $320,000 by the time it goes off-air at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Proceeds will be directed to the United Way’s 15 member agencies and community partners.

The pledge line is 306-340-4625.

This year’s telethon features a mixture of live entertainment and pre-recorded performances. Eighty-one hand crafted items have been available through a silent auction. Bidding on some of the items has closed already, but most items will be available into Saturday.

You can watch the broadcast on Access Now’ Estevan channel or by visiting www.unitedwayestevan.com.

The Mercury will have more details throughout the weekend.
