The Estevan Humane Society hosted its second annual Duck Derby on Sunday afternoon.

A large crowd gathered at the Woodlawn Regional Park's free park to witness the event. The rubber ducks were dropped from the Highway 47 bridge that crosses the Souris River, and floated down the river. The first duck to reach the finish line was the winner.

Rick Senchuk purchased the winning duck.

The duck derby raised more than $7,900 for the Estevan Humane Society.

This week's edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.
