A young person from southeast Saskatchewan has been recognized for her desire to help others, and for the many other activities she is involved with.

Adeline Oleshko was presented with the Pay it Forward Princess Award by the Estevan Kinettes Club during the Kinettes’ Super Magical Princess and Superhero Ball at the Royal Canadian Legion’s Estevan branch on Saturday afternoon.

The award is presented by the Kinettes each year to a young person who possesses the traits of a future Kinette.

Kasey McIntyre, who announced the award recipient, said Adeline has been playing hockey since she was four years old, and is part of the novice Bearcats female team.

She is also an active member of the Benson 4-H Club who enjoys taking care of her steer.

“She is learning to play the piano, and enjoys playing songs, and she is making her own songs up,” McIntyre. “She likes hockey, crafting and reading.”

Adeline always puts her sister and her friends first, and she often doesn’t realize she is being selfless.

“She lends a hand where she is needed,” said McIntyre.

Adeline received a certificate and several prizes from local businesses.

This week’s edition of Southeast Lifestyles will have more on this story.
