Another incumbent member of Estevan city council has filed nomination papers for a councillor seat.

Councillor Travis Frank, who is wrapping up his first term as a member of council, filed the documents Wednesday morning at city hall. He made the announcement on his Facebook page.

Frank ran for a spot on council for the first time in 2016 and finished fourth.

“It has been an honour to serve the community of Estevan for the past four years,” said Frank. “Looking back on my goals from the last election, I am so proud to see so many having been accomplished.

“I hope to be able to serve the public again, working to see a more open and transparent government, coming up with creative and innovative solutions to problems, and to be a voice for those like myself and my wife, who run small businesses here, whose families are here, and who are committed to making Estevan home for the rest of their lives.”

Frank joins another incumbent, Shelly Veroba, in the race for councillor. City council has six councillors.

Mayor Roy Ludwig has also filed his nomination papers for a third term in that role.

Eric McCrimmon is seeking a spot on the South East Cornerstone Public School Division board as a trustee for the Estevan area.

The deadline to file papers is Oct. 7. The civic election date is Nov. 9.
