Eric Randall Olson was killed in an accident on Aug. 8 at the age of 39 years. He is survived by his wife Darlene and their four children: Zoey, aged 3 1/2, and triplets Arya, Brooklyn and Charlotte (six months each).

An obituary noted that he had been working as an engineer in the oil and gas industry in Calgary for 15 years.

The campaign started on Aug. 9, and has raised $112,000 as of the morning of Aug. 15, exceeding its goal of $100,000. It had received 457 donations.

The writeup for the campaign noted Olson was a loving husband, father and friend who also loved NFL football and riding his Harley Davidson.
