Communities receive CIF grants

Numerous organizations in southeast Saskatchewan received funding through the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF). Two organizations in Estevan were allocated funding through the community grant program.

Numerous organizations in southeast Saskatchewan received funding through the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF).

Two organizations in Estevan were allocated funding through the community grant program. The Estevan Area Literacy Group received $11,900 for its Joy of Learning program, while the Estevan Family Resource Centre was awarded $25,000 for its crisis counsellor and support services.

The Cornerstone Family and Youth Centre in Carlyle received $25,000 for its community programming and education, and the Lampman Family Centre rece3ived $25,000 for its Health Rural Family Project.

Under the summer grants for the community grant program, five Estevan agencies received support. The City of Estevan received $5,000 for its summer playpark program, the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum received $2,000 for its summer art camps, the family resource centre received $5,000 for its summer discovery camps, the Estevan Public Library received $1,037 for its Go Science program and the Souris Valley Museum received $5,000 for its summer education and programming.

Carlyle and District Leisure Complex received $5,000 for its summer programs, Cornerstone Family and Youth in Carlyle was awarded $5,000 for its summer programs, the Carnduff Integrated Public Library received $750 for its summer reading program, the Kenosee Lake Bible Camp received $5,000 for its summer camp supplies and expenditures, the Midale Swimming Pool received $5,000 for its Keeping Cool in the Pool initiative, the Midale Public Library received $1,500 for its TD Summer Reading Club, the Expressway Family Centre in Oxbow received $5,000 for its summer programming, the Oxbow Swimming Pool received $5,000 for summer activities, and the Redvers Early Learning and Child Care Centre received $5,000 for its Experiencing the Seasons initiative.

More than $3.9 million will be allocated to projects across the province through CIF’s Feb. 1 and April 1 funding application deadlines.
