Community Calendar for Aug. 9-16

Friday, Aug. 9: Roche Percee Trail Ride and Wagon Trek is an event put on by the Souris Valley Trekkers that will take people along the trails in the Roche Percee valley. Rides leave at 1 p.m. on Aug. 9, 9 a.m. on Aug. 10 and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 11.

St. Paul's United Church's vacation Bible School

Friday, Aug. 9:

  • Roche Percee Trail Ride and Wagon Trek is an event put on by the Souris Valley Trekkers that will take people along the trails in the Roche Percee valley. Rides leave at 1 p.m. on Aug. 9, 9 a.m. on Aug. 10 and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 11.
  • St. Paul’s United Church’s Auditorium Bake Sale at 9 a.m. will have a variety of products.
  • Tween fairy garden making at Woodlawn Regional Park at 4 p.m. is offered by the Estevan Public Library.
  • Teen Cooking Club s’mores day at the Estevan Public Library at 4 p.m.

 

Saturday, Aug 10;

  • Estevan Farmers’ Market Sale at the Estevan Shoppers’ Mall’s parking lot at 9 a.m. will have plenty of products for customers.
  • Saturday swim at Hillcrest Playpark at 1 p.m.
  • Chess club at the Estevan Public Library at 1:30 p.m.
  • Saskatchewan Metis Society celebration at the Hitchcock Hall at 3 p.m. will have plenty of activities for the public. Supper will be at 6 p.m.
  • Powerful banana detox drink for extreme and rapid weight loss at the Estevan Public Library at 3 p.m.
  • Campfire bannock and story night at the Souris Valley Museum at 6 p.m.
  • Estevan Motor Speedway regular program at 7 p.m. will have racing in five different classes.

 

Sunday, Aug. 11:

  • Special Olympics and law enforcement softball game at the Pleasantdale Softball Diamonds at 11 a.m. is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics in Estevan.
  • Southeast Junior Roughnecks football team practice at the field south of the Estevan Comprehensive School at 1 p.m. will be the first practice for this new club.  

 

Monday, Aug. 12:

  • Vacation Bible School and Go Project at St. Paul’s United Church in Estevan at 9 a.m. Program goes all week.
  • Main Street Mobile at the Souris Valley Museum at 9 a.m. is a family activity offered by the Kid-First program.
  • Power Dodge Estevan Bruins summer camp at Affinity Place will give young players a chance to sharpen their skills for the upcoming season.
  • Tween unicorn night at the Estevan Public Library at 5 p.m.
  • Night swim at the Kin Hillside Playpark at 5 p.m.
  • Estevan city council meeting at city hall at 6 p.m.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 13:

  • Walk the Talk Walking Group at Affinity Place at 10:30 a.m. is a weekly program offered by the Estevan Public Library.
  • YouTube Challenge at the Estevan Public Library at 3:30 p.m.
  • Kid’s squishy circuits at the Estevan Public Library at 4 p.m.
  • Night swim at the Hillcrest Play Park at 5 p.m.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 14:

  • Story time at the Beach at the Woodlawn Regional Park’s Boundary Dam site at 10:30 a.m. is a weekly program hosted by the Estevan Public Library.

 

Thursday, Aug. 15:

  • The Amazing Race with Shakespeare at the Estevan Public Library at 3:30 p.m.
  • Tween life skills back to school hair at the Estevan Public Library at 4 p.m.
  • Homemade tub, tile and shower cleaner at the Estevan Public Library at 6 p.m.

 

Friday, Aug. 16:

  • Friday matinee at the Estevan Public Library at 2 p.m. will show the movie The Sixth Sense.
