James Trobert is the newest member of the Rural Municipality of Estevan’s council.
Trobert defeated Leanne Carlson 45-21 in Wednesday’s election for councillor of Division 4 in the RM.
The previous councillor for the division, Doug Blue, did not seek re-election.
Elections were held in even-numbered divisions of Saskatchewan RMs this year. Donald Hilstrom was acclaimed to another term in division No. 2, and Steve Smith was acclaimed in division No. 6. This will be Smith’s first term on the RM council; he replaces Bryan Tucker.
Also part of the RM council are Reeve Terry Keating, Division 1 councillor Don Hilstrom, Division 3 councillor Dennis Blackburn and Division 5 councillor Delbert Block.
