The South East Cornerstone Public School Division is following the changes to masking regulations announced by the provincial government earlier this week.

In a correspondence issued Thursday, South East Cornerstone’s says its masking requirement will now extend to all students, from pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, on all buses, in hallways, in high-density spaces and in classrooms where physical distances of two meters is not attainable.

Masks will be worn outdoors if two meters of distancing is not possible.

The government announced the changes to masking requirements on Nov. 25. They take effect Nov. 27, but schools in Cornerstone have scheduled days off on Nov. 27 and 30.

Cornerstone also announced it would be suspending its phased-in extracurricular plan at this time to align with the mandate of the province.

The school division says it appreciates everyone's continued efforts and support to ensuring a safe learning environment.
