Not one, but two new exhibitions at the Art Gallery

As we’ve recently seen, the weather can change its moods drastically and in a matter of minutes. Fortunately, unlike Mother Nature, the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) has activities for any kind of the day.

As we’ve recently seen, the weather can change its moods drastically and in a matter of minutes. Fortunately, unlike Mother Nature, the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) has activities for any kind of the day. And to make sure there is something to do during this cold weekend, the EAGM opened not one, but two exhibitions.

The author of the art project named the Quality of Your Involvement will be the Measure of Your Reward Terri Fidelak joined the reception on Friday. She talked about how this exhibition came together, why she did it the way it is and what meanings she put into it. The beautiful and very gentle pieces of artwork presented in Gallery one.

The second exhibition, named I do not Have My Words, is curated and organized by Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery. It showcases works of Indigenous, Saskatchewan artists Joi Arcand, Catherine Blackburn and Audrey Dreaver. The project, featuring printmaking, sculpture, photography and beaded mixed media works, raises a lot of questions about the reality the authors explore and ideas they put into their art. The exhibition is located in Gallery 2.

The entrance is free of charge. The two exhibits will be at the EAGM until June 14.

Next week’s Estevan Mercury and Southeast Lifestyles will have more on the events.
