Update: Severe thunderstorm warning cancelled.

Severe thunderstorm and hail hit parts Estevan early Saturday morning. The warning for R.M. of Estevan including Estevan and Hitchcock and R.M. of Cambria including Torquay and Outram was issued at 5:24 a.m. and was still in effect as of 6:17 a.m. 

Two main thunderstorms were within this area. One was located just south of Torquay and other was near Estevan. These thunderstorms were moving eastward at 50 kilometres per hour.

Environment Canada reminds, heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. 

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

Environment Canada also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for R.M. of Souris Valley including Tribune and Oungre early morning on Saturday, but it was cancelled at 6:17 a.m.
