A resident of Torquay was the big winner of a lottery in Saskatchewan recently.

Glen Forrester of Torquay won the grand of $150,000 in the Assiniboia Spring Fever Lotto. Curtis Nelson, who is the president of the Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association, presented Forrester's cheque on May 29.

Forrester was estatic about winning $150,000, although he couldn't quite believe the news at first when Nelson called to congratulate him.

"I was totally shocked when he called me,” Forrester told the Assiniboia Times. “What did I win? I kept repeating to myself."

The grand prize winner had their choice of one of six prizes. Numerous other prizes were also available in the lottery.

The Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association raises funds for cultural, recreational and sporting facilities for that town.
