The St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation’s car auction fundraiser proved to be a big hit.

Lorne and Charlene Hanson donated a 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V in June, to be auctioned off during a recent online auction conducted by the Mack Auction Company. With the help of Norm Mack and his team, the car sold for $12,500.

“This amount raised will be used to purchase much needed medical equipment for our hospital right here at home,” stated a post on the foundation’s Facebook page.

James Thompson from Clinton, B.C., purchased the car. He is expected to pick up the vehicle at a later date.

Murray GM Estevan allowed the foundation to store the vehicle in their show room.

“We would like to take a moment to truly express our appreciation for a very generous family along with some local businesses that helped us raise funds for our hospital,” said the foundation.
