Sask. Health reminds public that masking is still mandatory in facilities

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is reminding everyone who enters its facilities that masking is mandatory.

There are active cases of COVID-19 in all zones in Saskatchewan. Taking measures to reduce the spread is critical to keeping the Saskatchewan healthcare system functioning, including mandatory masking in all indoor public facilities in Saskatchewan, as identified in a new public health order on Nov. 19.

Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities are not exempt from this order. In fact, masking in facilities has been a requirement for a number of months. Everyone in an SHA facility must be masked at all times. If you refuse to wear a mask, or refuse to wear it properly, you will be refused entry to the facility or will be asked to leave.

To ensure that you can safely enter SHA facilities, please review these simple rules:

  • Bring a face mask. You can bring one of your own or get one from the facility upon arrival.
  • Be prepared to go through the COVID screening questions and to answer them truthfully.
  • Understand if there are visitor restrictions at the facility you are going to. Many SHA facilities have restrictions in place given the increase in COVID-19 cases. You can see all of the restrictions here.

It is everyone’s responsibility to follow the public health order at all times. Mandatory masking is part of that order. Refusal to follow it will not only lead to your removal from the premises but may result in additional enforcement measures under the public health order.
