Effective 8 a.m. June 24, residents are eligible for their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine a minimum of 28 days after they receive the first dose.

This means that as of June 24, second dose eligibility is open to any resident who received their first dose on or before May 27.

Residents who received their first COVID-19 immunization on May 28 will be eligible for their second dose on June 25, May 29 is eligible on June 26 and so on.

Once an individual is eligible for immunization they remain eligible and can be immunized at any time.

For second doses, residents will be required to know the date of their first immunization. That information was noted on the card presented at the first dose immunization, or if misplaced can be found by calling 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829), or checking immunization history on the resident's MySaskHealthRecord account.

Effective immediately, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has over 45,000 appointments available for first and second dose immunizations at clinics throughout the province. Eligible residents can book their immunization online 24/7 at saskatchewan.ca/COVID-19 vaccine, or phone 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829) between the hours of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days per week.

Residents are reminded to hold on to the card given to them at immunization, as it contains valuable information on the date of first immunization, and the vaccine used.

Once you become eligible for immunization, you remain eligible. This applies to both first and second dose immunizations.

The first dose is available to all residents aged 12 and older. Only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for use with residents aged 12 to 17.
