At 5: 30 Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for parts of Saskatchewan including Estevan. 

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms, which may produce tornadoes. A separate tornado watch was issued for Hitchcock. 

Intense thunderstorms have developed over parts of southern Saskatchewan. There is a potential for isolated tornadoes for the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening hours. 

These thunderstorms are also capable of producing very large hail, strong winds and torrential downpours. 

This is dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.

Tornado watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce tornados.
