Cheers and Jeers for April 20

Cheers: Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins and all the fans who turned out for Tuesday and Wednesday nights’ games for the tremendous support they showed for the Humboldt Broncos organization.

Cheers:

Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins and all the fans who turned out for Tuesday and Wednesday nights’ games for the tremendous support they showed for the Humboldt Broncos organization.

Cheers to the Estevan DQ for the fundraiser they hosted for Humboldt last week. It was well worth standing in the lineup.

Cheers to the Estevan Wildlife Federation for the fundraising dinner and auction they hosted on the weekend. The money goes to a lot of great projects.

Cheers to return of the Estevan Farmers’ Market sales at the Estevan Shoppers Mall. It’s a sign that spring is coming soon.

Cheers to St. Joseph’s Hospital for its plan to expand the chemotherapy department. It will be a big boost for patients.

Jeers:

Jeers to the fans at the Bruin games that yell at and boo the players. If you have never played hockey at that calibre, you have no idea how much pressure the players have. They are still kids and mistakes will be made.

Jeers to Canada Post for leaving their blue elastic bands around the mail boxes.

Jeers to the provincial government for allowing primarily Alberta companies to qualify for the cannabis lottery. There should have been mandatory Saskatchewan content.

Jeers to motorists who continue to insist on turning left, or driving straight through, the stop sign at the intersection of Souris Avenue and King Street, even though a sign says people can only make right-hand turns.

Jeers to the provincial government’s plan to start passing lanes south of Regina, rather than close to Estevan. The first priority for passing lanes should be between Estevan and Weyburn.
