Cheers and Jeers for April 5

Cheers to those people seen walking in the park along First Street and picking up trash as they walk. One person had a huge big bag full of trash. Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School’s drama club for the outstanding performance of 937.

Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School’s drama club for the outstanding performance of 937. Good luck at the regional drama festival.

Cheers to the Estevan Area Literacy Group for organizing the Battle of the Books, and encouraging kids to read while having fun.

Cheers to all those people who supported the Estevan Wildlife Federation’s fundraising dinner and auction, and supported habitat, conservation camps and other efforts for the wildlife federation.

Cheers to the Estevan Leisure Centre and their fitness instructors for the aquatic and fitness classes offered in the community.

Jeers to those who still have electrical chords crossing the sidewalks to plug in their vehicles. Now that the weather is warming up, more people are out walking, and they shouldn’t have to contend with this trip hazard.

Jeers to people who obstruct sidewalks when they park their vehicles. The sidewalk was not created to be blocked by the extended box of a pick-up truck.

Jeers to the start of the carbon tax in Saskatchewan. Perhaps the federal government should take a page from farmers on how to properly curb emissions.

Jeers to anyone who was complaining about the noise and traffic snarls caused by the convoy heading to Regina for the Rally Against the Carbon Tax. Do these whiners realize why the convoy and the rally was happening in the first place?
