Cheers and Jeers for Aug. 10

Cheers to the member of the city's public works department for taking care of an issue regarding an area of the paved back lane on Petterson Drive in a prompt and efficient manner.

Cheers to the member of the city's public works department for taking care of an issue regarding an area of the paved back lane on Petterson Drive in a prompt and efficient manner.

Cheers to the different committees involved with organizing the events in Midale during the August long weekend. It was great to see so much happening in the town.

Cheers to the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club for the great job they did in hosting the Frametech Classic on the weekend. The course looked great and so many people did a great job.

Cheers to the Bikers Against Diabetes for continuing to host the motorcycle rodeo each year, and raising funds to send young people to a diabetic camp.

Cheers to renaming a road in Estevan after Russell Brown. He was a dedicated member of the community in the short time he was here.

Jeers to the lack of maintenance for the historic Grace Pioneer Cemetery south of Estevan. Grass needs to be cut and trees that are dying need to be watered.

Jeers to pet owners who let their cats roam freely. They urinate and defecate in their neighbour's gardens.

Jeers to the increase in drugs in the community. Three arrests in a four-day span for methamphetamines is not a good sign.

Jeers to those who throw their cigarette butts, fast food packaging and other items out the window and into the ditches along the highways. It leaves a particularly bad impression at entrances.

Jeers to the ongoing state of the access road to Woodlawn Regional Park’s Boundary Dam beach site. It’s still in terrible shape, and was particularly problematic during the long weekend.
