Cheers and Jeers for Aug. 17

Cheers to the very nice woman who tipped her paper carrier for working in the extreme heat last week. Cheers to the organizers of the Roughrider Block Party in Bienfait on Saturday night. A great night and well-deserved for the people of Bienfait.

Cheers to the organizers of the Roughrider Block Party in Bienfait on Saturday night. A great night and well-deserved for the people of Bienfait.

Cheers to the Estevan Wildlife Federation for hosting the annual Conservation Camp for local youths. They learn so much each year.

Cheers to the Sun City Prop Busters for giving local model airplane enthusiasts a place to enjoy their hobby for the past 30 years.

Cheers to the local senior baseball teams for their great showing at the recent provincial tournaments in Estevan and elsewhere in southeast Saskatchewan.

Cheers to the construction on King Street wrapping up, and the end of the detours in northeast Estevan.

Jeers to the drivers who continue to refuse to use their signal lights. Why do they insist on trying to create an accident?

Jeers to shoppers who insist on stopping and chatting, and in the process, blocking the entire aisle for shoppers. To make matters worse, they act like you’re the bad guy wen you ask them to get out of the way.

Jeers to the drivers who drive too fast in back alleys. They aren’t designed for people to be driving 60 kilometres per hour.

Jeers to the people who were texting and driving on Fourth Street. It’s not fun trying to pass them while they’re weaving around the road.

Jeers to the current leadership of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. It’s tough to justify travelling to Regina nine times per year to watch that mess.
