Cheers and Jeers for Aug. 31

Cheers to the nice woman on George Street who gave her paper carrier a cool treat on a very warm day last week. Cheers to the improvements that have been made to the access road for the Boundary Dam beach site and campground.

Cheers to the nice woman on George Street who gave her paper carrier a cool treat on a very warm day last week.

Cheers to the improvements that have been made to the access road for the Boundary Dam beach site and campground. It’s much better than it was a few weeks ago.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for bringing Alice Cooper to Affinity Place. It’s great to have these concerts in Estevan.

Cheers to the organizers of the fun Glow Paddle night on the Souris River. It was a fun and peaceful evening.

Cheers to the Saskatchewan Science Centre for bringing their Go Science activity to the Estevan Public Library. The kids always have lots of fun while learning.

Jeers to people who think customers are just waiting to do their shopping at quitting time. For many it’s not a choice; they also have to work for a living.

Jeers to those people who post garage and yard sale signs on city property and power poles, and fail to remove them after the sale. These signs are a distraction to drivers.

Jeers to motorists who remain in the right hand lane of divided highways, and don’t move to the left lane, when approaching access ramps, even if there is a perfect opportunity to do so. Move to the left lane if possible and allow traffic to merge.

Jeers to those who think they can drive as aggressively in fog and rain as they do on a clear, sunny day.

Jeers to the state of the highways south and west of Torquay. It’s good to see that improvements were made to Highway 18 east of the village. Now work needs to happen on the other highways.
