Cheers and Jeers for Dec. 20

Cheers: Cheers to everyone who put in the work for the City of Estevan and the Estevan Bruins to bring the 2022 Centennial Cup to Estevan. It’s the type of event we need here. Cheers to everybody who supported the Estevan Kinette Club’s PJ project.

Cheers to everyone who put in the work for the City of Estevan and the Estevan Bruins to bring the 2022 Centennial Cup to Estevan. It’s the type of event we need here.

Cheers to everybody who supported the Estevan Kinette Club’s PJ project. A lot of kids will have a pair of pyjamas to open this year thanks to the support.

Cheers to the Rotary Club of Estevan for another delightful Christmas Carol Festival. There were so many talented performers who brought some Christmas spirit.

Cheers to the Woodlawn Regional Park for the Christmas in the Park activities and the fireworks that followed. The Festival of Lights looks great, too.

Cheers to everybody who has stepped forward to support the Warm Welcome Kitchen in the past week, and ensured that the kitchen would operate for a few more days this month.

Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs basketball teams for all of the tournaments they won during the weekend. It looks like it will be a good year.

Jeers:

Jeers to the lack of Christmas decorations on houses this year. It's one more thing that changes the season from being about the "experience," to being about consuming material possessions, especially for children.

Jeers to those who leave their vehicles idling for prolonged periods of time. Your vehicle might need to run for a few minutes to warm up, but it doesn’t need to run for 40 minutes.

Jeers to those who drive far too aggressively in parking lots, especially now that we’re into Christmas shopping and more people are out and about.
