Cheers and Jeers for Dec. 6

Cheers: Cheers to the Bienfait Lions Club’s community theatre for the wildly entertaining performance of Drinking Habits on the weekend. Lots of laughs from start to finish.

Cheers to the Bienfait Lions Club’s community theatre for the wildly entertaining performance of Drinking Habits on the weekend. Lots of laughs from start to finish.

Cheers to the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum for hosting the Homemade for the Holidays event every year. Great gift ideas from a variety of local artists and vendors.

Cheers to the volunteers who have been ringing bells for the Estevan Salvation Army so far this campaign. Great to see people out helping others in the community.

Cheers to the growth of the Angel Tree program. There used to be one tree in the city. Now there are four. And it comes at a time when so many people are in need.

Cheers to all of the lovely Christmas light displays that we see around town this year. They look so nice with the snow we have received.

Jeers:

Jeers to people who were complaining about the response time to the power failure on Monday. Yes, we all found it frustrating, but that doesn’t mean you should complain on social media.

Jeers to this rash of thefts we’ve been seeing in Estevan as of late. Business owners have to be disheartened to see their merchandise and equipment whisked away.

Jeers to those who have not been heeding the speed limit in school zones and playground zones, especially when the conditions have been icy outside.

Jeers to the Ministry of the Environment for not issuing replacement tags for big game meat that is inedible. After being in the draw system for 11 years, the moose was badly infected so there was no moose meat for the table.
