Cheers and Jeers for July 12

Cheers: Cheers to the cast and crew for the great show of Ranchers and Rustlers. It’s great to watch and listen to the talent. Cheers to the committee that organizes Stoughton Daze each year.

Cheers to the cast and crew for the great show of Ranchers and Rustlers.  It’s great to watch and listen to the talent.

Cheers to the committee that organizes Stoughton Daze each year. The activities are always a lot of fun and there is so much happening in the town.

Cheers to Macoun’s parks and recreation department for the summer celebration on the weekend. Great to have so much fun in a small village.

Cheers to Gage Goetz for his efforts to raise funds for the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. Hard to believe such a young person could raise so much money.

Cheers to 4-H clubs in the region for the skills and the work ethic they instill into young people. Events like the cattle sale deserve to be well-supported.

Jeers:

Jeers to stores that advertise products and the thing you want is never in stock.

Jeers to the recent spike in drug-related arrests and impaired driving incidents. These problems had been far less common recently; it’s sad to see it happening again. At least they’re getting caught.

Jeers to the traffic that insisted on driving down Fifth Street and Sixth Street on Tuesday during the storm, even though barricades were set up to keep the traffic away. And it’s really bad when people drive fast on those roads, pushing the water into people’s yards.

Jeers to drivers who lack the patience to give pedestrians the right of way at crosswalks. It makes it dangerous for people out enjoying a stroll.
