Cheers and Jeers for July 19

Cheers: Cheers to the citizens of Estevan who welcomed the cast and crew of the Souris Valley Theatre’s production of Ranchers and Rustlers by inviting them to various events and also to their homes.

Cheers:

Cheers to the citizens of Estevan who welcomed the cast and crew of the Souris Valley Theatre’s production of Ranchers and Rustlers by inviting them to various events and also to their homes. Although the cast may not have been able to accept every invitation they certainly appreciated them.

Cheers to Pete from the Tower Café and Jeff and Brad from the Days Inn for providing an appreciation reception for the cast and crew of Ranchers and Rustlers as well as the board of the Souris Valley Theatre.

Cheers to the Estevan Flying Club for giving local young people free flights on their airplanes. The kids loved seeing the city from way up above.

Cheers to the Rafferty Rumble booklet that was in this week’s edition of the Mercury. It’s good to know all of the events happening in the community next weekend.

Cheers to the Estevan Humane Society for their service to the community for 25 years. They have done so much for cats and dogs.

Jeers:

Jeers to people who go to garage sales and want everything for nothing. If these people had a sale, they would want top dollar for their items. Then they don’t even say thank you for the merchandise they purchased.

Jeers to the condition of the Kensington Park Green and the Trojan Playpark. They are both filled with weeds and not well maintained.

Jeers to people who park their work vehicles on residential streets for extended periods of time.

Jeers to cyclists who run red lights without even trying to stop. Just because they’re on a bicycle doesn’t mean the rules of the road don’t apply to them. Wait for the light to turn green.
