Cheers and Jeers for July 6

Cheers to all who worked to provide the great band at the Estevan pre-Canada Day celebration and the awesome fireworks in both Estevan and Bienfait. Cheers to all those who are involved with hosting the Canada Day celebration at Oungre Park.

Cheers to all who worked to provide the great band at the Estevan pre-Canada Day celebration and the awesome fireworks in both Estevan and Bienfait.

Cheers to all those who are involved with hosting the Canada Day celebration at Oungre Park. The day was enjoyable in every way, from the food, musical entertainment and activities.

Cheers to everybody who was involved with the Brain Bucket Barrel Racing event at the exhibition grounds during the weekend. It supported a couple of great causes.

Cheers to those who were involved with the Warm Welcome Kitchen. It proved to be a nice addition to the community and it’s good to see it will resume in September.

Cheers to the organizers of the Alameda Fishing Derby this year. It attracts a lot of people to support the local rink.

Jeers to those who think that reduced speed limits don’t apply in school zones during the summer months. It’s still 30 kilometres per hour near schools in July and August.

Jeers to loud exhaust pipes on motorcycles. People might think it’s nice to have the loudest motorcycle in town, but it’s not. And it’s really bad on Petterson Drive now that the detour is in place.

Jeers to the proposed common lunch for the Estevan Comprehensive School. It will make it tougher for students to be involved in band and choral programs.

Jeers to the motorist who ran a red light at the intersection of Fourth Street and Kensington Avenue on Saturday morning. Just because there’s reduced traffic on the roads at that time doesn’t make it less dangerous.

Jeers to those who have been driving through the barricades on King Street. Don’t they realize what the words “Road Closed” mean?
