Cheers and Jeers for June 15

Cheers to all of the volunteers who worked on the Envision Counselling and Support Centre’s 24-hour support line over the years. They helped a lot of people. Cheers to the organizers of the T&T Rods Show and Shine.

Cheers to the organizers of the T&T Rods Show and Shine. It was nice to see all of the vehicles that were on display once again.

Cheers to the Rotary Club of Estevan and all of the volunteers for this year’s Lobsterfest on Friday night. It’s one of the most enjoyable events of the year.

Cheers to the arrival of more physicians in the community. Hopefully they will stick around for a while.

Cheers to another fun and entertaining Lampman Sports Weekend. It was a nice event for the community after all of the rain the previous weekend.

Jeers to another property tax increase for Estevan residents. Do taxes really need to go up every year?

Jeers to those who still haven’t figured out the lane alignment on King Street west of Nannatyne Avenue. It’s not a good idea to change lanes without signalling.

Jeers to those who drive too fast in parking lots or in back alleys. These are not areas that were built for high speeds.

Jeers to motorists who have been caught driving while on their cell phones, particularly those who were busy texting while driving.

Jeers to those who don’t pull over when an emergency vehicle is approaching. Let the fire trucks, police cars and ambulances get by.
