Cheers and Jeers for June 29

Cheers to the St. Joseph`s Hospital Foundation for organizing another fun colour run. The car they`re giving away in a lottery looks good, too.

Cheers to Southeast Newcomer Services and the Souris Valley Museum for hosting events to celebrate National Aboriginal Day. Those who didn`t have the Indigenous tacos missed out.

Cheers to the Estevan bantam Voltz lacrosse team for winning their league championship. All the best in provincials.

Cheers to the We Day Club at Spruce Ridge School for bringing a We Day to Estevan. It was a fun event, and the kids did a great job.

Cheers to the Souris Valley Theatre for the upcoming concert with Tenille Arts on July 7. Another event for Estevan area residents this summer.

Jeers to businesses that don’t change their garbage bags. They are too full and the garbage blows all over the place.

Jeers to those who have been driving dangerously on residential streets now that the detour is in place on King Street. Slow down and remember these aren’t arterial roads.

Jeers to those who are complaining about the detour on King Street. It’s there for a reason, so that we’ll have a nice, smooth road when it’s finished.

Jeers to those who were following the two moose around the city on the weekend. It only made the situation worse. Let the police look after them.

Jeers to the federal government`s plan to force a carbon tax on the residents of Saskatchewan now that the numbers are out on how much it could really cost us.
