Cheers and Jeers for March 16

Cheers: Cheers to the City of Estevan for the outstanding snow clearing efforts following the storm last week. It didn’t take long for the roads to be easy to drive again.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for the outstanding snow clearing efforts following the storm last week. It didn’t take long for the roads to be easy to drive again.

Cheers to the person who cleared snow from the whole block on 2nd Street A last week.

Cheers to the students from Pleasantdale School for the great work they did during the Wave production last week.

Cheers to the Estevan Arts Council for organizing the Thursday evening arts classes for local youths.

Cheers to the organizers of the Carnduff and District Music and Arts Festival for the great job they did this year, particularly after all the snow.

Jeers:

Jeers to the City of Estevan for bringing in another concert to Affinity Place. Alice Cooper? Just another cost for the taxpayers.

Jeers to whoever decided to move the spin classes at Affinity Place into the multipurpose room. The spin program has been going strong for over six years, and the classes run 12 hours a week year-round.

Jeers to whoever removed the pedestrian crossing signs at King Street and Pine Avenue across from the Estevan Shoppers Mall.

Jeers to those that complain about some of the sidewalks not being cleared a few days after the storm. Did they bother to go check and see if those people needed help due to a circumstance?

Jeers to local businesses that do giveaways for out of town businesses.  Let’s support those that support us.

Jeers to the mail carriers that do not put the mail in the right mailbox.  Some people receive the wrong mail every day.
