Cheers and Jeers for March 29

Cheers to selecting the Marcotte family for the Estevan Farm Family of the Year Award. They have done so much in the community and they run a successful operation.

Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins for the thrilling series they had with the Humboldt Broncos, and for never giving up. Good luck in the next round.

Cheers to the organizers of the B&T Estevan Gun Show. There was a lot of good selection once again this year.

Cheers to seeing street sweepers out in the community in the middle of March. It’s a good sign when most of the snow is gone before the first day of spring.

Cheers to the Estevan Mercury for the updates they provided on Game 7 on their website. For those who couldn’t be there, it was a tremendous asset.

Jeers to the people that left all their fast food wrappers and other garbage on the ground at the off-leash park. Dogs might not eat it, but what about the wildlife ingesting plastic? Pick up your trash or stay away.

Jeers to the motorist who drives a dented up, dark coloured four-door vehicle. A red light means stop.

Jeers to people who let their dogs off-leash while driving along a town road, especially the cemetery road. Drivers won't stop to pick up their dog's poop, nor watch carefully if their dog interferes with someone who is walking with a dog on-leash.

Jeers to those who don’t understand why city council is discussing the need to change their compensation in mid-term. It’s because something happened that is completely beyond their control.
