Cheers and Jeers for May 18

Cheers to the man who picked up and bagged all the winter garbage that was thrown into the ditches on the north side of Estevan and along Highway 47 in the rural municipality.

Cheers to the Estevan Family Resource Centre for organizing the family expo on Saturday. It was a fun day for people of all ages.

Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins for hosting the Sportsman’s Dinner. While the lack of advanced notice was annoying, it was still an entertaining evening.

Cheers to the organizers of the Coal Country Run. This has become a great event that encourages people to stay fit.

Cheers to the Operation Clean Sweep held by the City of Estevan. It helps the city look just a little bit better.

Jeers to the parent who decided to come onto a soccer field to yell at a couple of four-year-old children who were fooling around. Have a little self-control.

Jeers to the condition of Highway 350 south of Torquay. It’s hard to believe there are any roads in the province that are in worse shape.

Jeers to people letting their dogs bark day and night in their yard. It’s noise pollution. Time to stop the insanity.

Jeers to the demolition of the Civic Auditorium. While it was inevitable, it’s still sad to see the great old barn ripped apart.

Jeers to people who don’t slow down when passing emergency vehicles and tow trucks. It makes for a dangerous situation.
